Szepsy Estate Tokaji Szamorodni 2016
£58.00
Stunningly concentrated and ageworthy Tokaji that manages a knife-edge balance of sweetness and incredible freshness.
- The term 'Szamorodni' translates to 'as it comes', a reflection of this wine's interesting vinification methods.
- The bunches of grapes are picked and processed as whole bunches, so may include botrytised, over-ripe, or fresh berries. This is in contrast to Tokaji Aszu, which is made with individually picked botrytised grapes.
- The szamorodni method ensures maximum acidity and freshness are retained, meaning that these wines are incredibly long-lived.
- The wine contains 170g residual sugar but thanks to the Szamorodni method, the result is a fresh sweet wine with the taste of yellow and dried fruits, minerals and a hint of saffron-spiced botrytis.
- Pairs perfectly with fruit based desserts or blue cheeses.
- Grape variety: Muscat, Hárslevelü, Furmint
- Vintage: 2016
