The estate dates back to 1849 when it was founded by Franz Peter Buhl. He was a passionate spokesman for the interests of German winegrowers. His son, Armand Buhl, followed in his fathers' footsteps. He married the beautiful Julie and inherited their top Forster sites. The estate then made a significant name for itself well beyond the borders of Germany. The estate covers approximately 50 hectares of superb land around the Middelhaardt region of Deidesheim, bordering the western bank of the Rhine.
