Puligny-Montrachet Le Trézin, Domaine Gérard Thomas et Filles 2022

Outstanding white Burgundy from a highly experienced producer.

• Attractive aromas of green apple, pear, and lemon citrus combining with subtle vanilla spice.
• The rich, round and creamy texture is supported by a wonderful streak of mineral-laced acidity that adds energy and focus, leading into a core of more green and citrus fruit with a generous dash of white pepper spice.
• 0.52-hectares of vines planted in 1973 and 1978. A hidden gem at the top of the slope bordering the Premier Cru vineyards of La Garenne and Sous Le Puits.
• All the whites are barrel fermented with 25% new oak used. Ten months in cask follows, with regular lees stirring to add depth.
• Gerard Thomas has been in control of this Saint-Aubin estate since 1982 and is now helped by his two daughters, Isabelle and Anne.
