Marriage of cognac flavours and white stone fruits
- This is a speciality in the Cognac region in France
- Made by blending one-year-old brandy, grape must, and unfermented grape juice
- Pineau des Charentes was first made in 1500s, where apparently a winemaker accidentally added grape must to a cognac barrel!
- The grape must and cognac is stirred together everyday to blend them perfectly
- Wonderful as an aperitif!
- Type/Colour: White
- Alcohol: 17%
- Bottle Size: 70cl
- Country: France
Having picked grapes in Cognac many years ago, I am very familiar with this. Delightful before or after dinner. Surprise your guests with something different! - Mark Warde-Aldam, OWC
