Mossburn Vintage Cask, North British 2008

A 15 year old Lowland Single Grain Scotch Whisky from this powerhouse Edinburgh distillery

• North British are most famous for producing mainly light uninspiring grain whisky used by the mega brands for bulk blending ingredients. Every so often however, you find something both seriously interesting and absolutely delicious
• Mossburn are the whisky blenders and independent bottlers behind, OWC favourite, Torabhaig distillery
• This is a small batch release, distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2024 at cask strength without added colour or chill filtration
• Light cereal notes on the nose wrapped in coffee and cacao sherry aromas with some molasses, raisins and figs adding to an edge of pipe tobacco
• The palate has a rich sherry opening, with walnuts and hazelnuts. Light peppery notes lead to a slightly dry bittersweet finish that carries more cacao, prune and fig
