An outstanding expression of Chenin with a delightful precise and and playful floral and fruity expression.

  • Maison Ventenac is a family affair. Established in 1973 the estate is now in the hands of the 3rd generation. Stéphanie, the eldest of 3 daughters, arrived with her husband, Olivier Ramé in 2010 to take over the estate and revamp its image
  • Located in the heart of the Cabardès AOC region, this 160-hectare vineyard (of which 30 hectares are rented) backs onto the Montagne Noire and enjoys both the Languedoc sun and the cool Atlantic influence all year round
  • Lemon-yellow colour with vibrant green hues, with a wealth of shiny floral notes of elderflower and daisies, this wine has hints of zingy lemon, juicy apricots and hints of tropical pineapple on the nose
  • The wine has a complex and extremely vibrant aromatic profile, both floral and fruity. The palate reveals a light and vibrant wine on mid-body with a crisp acidity and salivating minerality to the finish
  • This is an outstanding expression of Chenin, both typical of the grape but revealed here with a delightful precise and playful floral and fruitiness

'At a recent tasting, this wine silenced all critics of Languedoc whites. Attractively priced, this 100% Chenin Blanc wine is something very special. Unoaked and made with care and precision, the chalky terroir comes shining through in this playful, fruit-driven expression of the Chenin Blanc grape. Graceful, aromatic and complex, it will benefit from some aeration before serving.' - James Lawrence, Calibre Magazine

'100% Chenin Blanc on limestone and clay. Spontaneous fermentation, no sulphites used during the vinification, which takes place in 20hl foudres. no MLF. Aged for six months in foudre. Gorgeous lemony floral perfume. This wine fills the mouth! A dazzling dance of clotted cream and white citrus, baked pears and almonds, roundness and acidity like light-shafted glass. Unfurls in the glass, offering up dried chamomile flowers, a touch of creme brulee. Stunning.' Jancis Robinson, www.jancisrobinson.com

Maison Ventenac is a family affair. Established in 1973 by Alain Maurel and his father, the estate is now in the hands of the 3rd generation. Stéphanie, the eldest of Alain Maurel's 3 daughters, arrived with her husband, Olivier Ramé in 2010 to take over the estate and revamp its image. Thanks to his extensive training in wine-growing and oenology, Olivier succeeded in combining the old world heritage, passed down by his father-in-law, with the new world spirit. Located in the heart of the Cabardès AOC region, this 160-hectare vineyard (of which 30 hectares are rented) backs onto the Montagne Noire and enjoys both the Languedoc sun and the cool Atlantic influence all year round.
