An opulent, complex Napa Valley Cabernet with finesse

• Aromas of blackcurrant, dark chocolate, violet, blackberry, with a hint of dried herbs which continue to the palate with coffee, cassis and tobacco. The palate is full-bodied, yet has a freshness on the finish.
• Aged for 16 months in both French and American oak barrels, both new and old, which softens the tannins and contributes complex flavours of vanilla and mocha.
• 94% Cabernet Sauvignon with the addition of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec.
• Joseph Phelps was founded in 1973 by its namesake Joe Phelps who was one of the pioneers in California wine making. He was one of the first winemakers in California to produce a Bordeaux blend in California- the iconic Insignia.
• This will improve over the next 15 years.
