A rich Shiraz packed full of dark fruit, pepper and spice
- Aromas of blueberry, blackberry, black plums complemented by flavours of black olive, cinnamon and liquorice. The palate is full-bodied, with a velvety texture and has a long finish.
- This wine spends 12 months in French oak, which contributes flavours of baking spice and dark chocolate
- Jim Barry set up the winery in 1959, and is now run by the third generation of the Barry family. In the 1960s, Jim Barry purchased 28 hectares of prime land from Duncan McRae Wood, the inspiration behind the name of this wine.
- Clare Valley produces elegant styles of Shiraz due to its high diurnal temperature difference- the cool nights allow the grapes to retain acidity.
