A rich and full-bodied Merlot from the Veneto in northern Italy

Clos Roareti is produced in a century old walled vineyard in Negrar di Valpolicella
Merlot fairs extremely well on the vineyard's clay based soils producing an excellent expression of the grape
The wine spends 12 months in barrique, 25% of which is new oak which imparts delightful flavours of vanilla, cedar and clove
The wine is well balanced with notes of dark cherry, tobacco, spice and the aformentioned oak
Best served after decanting and pairs exceptionally well with rich red meats and even strong cheese platters

I enjoyed this recently with friends over a charcuterie board and it was the perfect pairing! It's a Merlot from Veneto in Italy, which is a little obscure, but it has the best of both worlds with the rich notes of a classic Merlot with Northern Italian flair. - Katy Barker, OWC
