A 'summertime Nebbiolo' made from a rare Piemontese grape.
- Grignolino is a grape native to the Monferrato hills in the Piemonte region of Italy. Light in body and colour, Grignolino is clean and refreshing, packing in aromas and flavours of berry, herbs and spice.
- It has been described as a "summertime version of Nebbiolo", with bright aromas of rose, sage, and white peppercorn yet often more wild strawberry than sour cherry, and is best enjoyed slightly chilled.
- Vineyards are located in the communes of Nizza Monferrato and Castelnuovo Calcea, in the province of Asti.
- Goes well with hors d'oeuvres, soups, light first courses, white meat.
- Best drunk whilst young and fresh.

So light it could almost be Rosé. Dry, intensly juicy red cherry fruit flavours from a little-known Piedmontese grape of the same name. This is a refreshing, versatile style of red wine that can be enjoyed chilled, as an aperitif or with your favourite antipasti. - John Shuckburgh, OWC
