- A New York-based sommelier started Gramercy in 2005. Today the goal is to make honest and complex wines that pair well with food and age well.
- While most of the Grapes don't come from Walla Walla (which is in the lower Eastern corner of Washington State), the wine is named after the Walla Walla nickname - Lower East.
- 60% of the grapes come from Olsen Vineyard located to the west of Red Mountain AVA in Yakima Valley, which is a slightly cooler climate.
- Lower East was created as a thank you to Gramercy Cellar's customers and industry friends to make great wine at a great price!
- 100% Syrah. 65% whole cluster fermentation, followed by 17 months in barriques, of which only 13% is first fill.
