Esk Valley Pinot Noir is drawn from vineyards in the Awatere and Wairau Valleys in Marlborough in New Zealand's South Island.
Plenty of berry, cherry and currant and warming notes of spice and clove from twelve months spent in barrique.
A red grape highly prized for producing complex, perfumed wines, but tricky to cultivate.
The vines are trained on an upright vertical shoot positioned trellis and managed intensively to produce low yields of excellent quality fruit. Shoot thinning, bunch thinning and leaf plucking are all undertaken in the pursuit of quality.
