'One of the most significant developments of the past couple of decades in Chile is the move to new coastal vineyards for producing cool-climate varieties such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Always near the front of the Chilean avant garde, Errazuriz's explorations took the company to a very special site on the coast of home valley, Aconcagua.
The results have been impressive, from the very first harvest, not least in the chiselled shape of this superb Chardonnay.
"With an elegant nose of citrus and stone fruit, the palate is full of tension, with great refreshing and lingering acidity and excellent length," the WM Top 100 judges said.' - The Wine Merchant Top 100 2018
'Star Buy: Venerable Chilean producer Errazuriz has found a new lease of life since the fruit from its new vineyards near the Pacific coast came on stream. Here the site gives a charge of mineral freshness and nervy energy to the ripe full fruit and subtle savoury oak in a perfectly balanced, world-class Chardonnay' - David Williams, The Observer 50 Best wines for Christmas 2016
'Subtle, nutty nose with delicate notes of mango and pineapple. Concentrated, rich palate of white flowers, stone fruits, almond, cooked butter and a refreshing salty tang. This is a beautiful young wine already with lots of personality, a great structure, a long aftertaste and incredible ageing potential.' Decanter Magazine, 2016
The Errazuriz estate was founded in Aconcagua in 1860 by Don Maximiano Errazuriz, and is now under the control of the fifth generation of the family, headed by Eduardo Chadwick.
