El Bandarra Rojo classic Spanish Vermut from Catalonia in North East Spain
- Produced just outside of Barcelona at the Casa Berger Winery from a blend of 50% Macabeo and 50% Xarel-lo, it uses fifty botanicals to create this deliciously sweet vermouth
- The 1970s was a golden age for vermouth. Bars painted their tapas menus in bright colours on the windows in Barcelona. El Bandarra's unique bottle design pays homage to this special time
- On the nose the dominant aroma is of liquorice with blasts of citrus fruit, cooked raspberries, blueberry jam and herbal earthiness
- The palate is bittersweet with notes of ripe cherry, wormwood, rosemary and spice
- Use something Italian for your Negronis, this one's best enjoyed simply on ice with a big slice of orange
- Alcohol: 15%
- Bottle Size: 100cl
- Country: Spain
- Suitable for Vegans: Yes
Spanish Vermouth differs from its Italian cousin in that it's slightly less bitter and a lot more juicy. As the sunshine hits, there's no better feeling than a sip of this stuff in a glass full of ice and a big slice of orange. - Tom Brady, OWC
