The Thanisch Estate practices sustainable and ecologically-oriented viticulture in its vineyards, with no use of pesticides, herbicides or insecticides. They do not use chemical fertilisers or heavy machinery, and almost all vineyard work is done by hand. In the winery there is minimal use of sulfur dioxide.
