Multi award winning wines and winemaker. Â'Ernie Loosen has single-handedly put German wine on the world stage and in the 21st century. He has done it by a mixture of irreverence, tireless traveling and an uncompromising quest for quality.Â' Jancis Robinson, Decanter April 2005
Ernie Loosen produces only Riesling from traditional, slate-soil vineyards in the Mosel Valley. A full range of Prädikat wines is made from six grand cru single-vineyard sites. The vineyards of Dr. Loosen owe their excellent quality to three major factors: the exceptional regional climate of the Middle Mosel area, the mineral-rich slate and volcanic soils, and the incredible age of the estateÂ's ungrafted Riesling vines. These are world class wines of exceptional quality.
Dr. Loosen Estate practices sustainable viticulture, under the strict German environmental regulations.
