Made from old-vine Mencía - in excess of 80 years old - grown on steep slate hillsides around the village of Bembibre.
Low yields and meticulous vineyard work give depth, perfume and structure.
The wine spends 14-18 months in French oak, contributing complex notes of toast and subtle smoke, along with a smooth texture.
An example of the richer side of Mencía, pairing well with lamb, charcuterie and earthy vegetarian dishes.
