Not your typical Sancerre! Sauvignon Blanc from Kimmeridgian Marl soil is powerful and brooding.
- Expect notes of lemons, grapefruits, ripe pear, flint and melon complemented by white peach and gooseberry.
- 30% of the wine is aged in oak barrels which adds a rounded texture as well as notes of toast and vanilla.
- Jean-Max Roger purchased 4 hectares of vines in the early 1970s and now farm 34 hectares, 28 of which is Sancerre where their winery is also based.
- Drinking well now, but will cellar for at least ten years.
- Pair with crustaceans, shellfish, and fish.
