A lighter style of white Burgundy
- Ladoix white is one of the least-known wines of the Côte de Beaune, but it compares favourably to famous appellations.
- This appellation borders the famous Grand Cru vineyard, Corton Charlemagne, which produces some of the most powerful wines of the Côte de Beaune.
- This wine has a lovely pale colour, elegant floral notes and mineral touches. Soft, with a little hint of oak in the background. A really classy Burgundy for the money.
- The wine is vinified from three separate vineyards, or 'climats', as they are referred to in Burgundy: Les Chaillots, Les Chagnots, Les Combottes.
- Chagnot is the Burgundian diminutive of 'châgne' from the Old French 'chasne' meaning "oak". (Modern standard French: chêne). This area was once filled with oak trees!
- Grape variety: Chardonnay
- Vintage: 2023
- Type/Colour: White
- Alcohol: 13%
- Bottle Size: 75cl
- Group: Burgundy
Elegant floral notes and mineral touches. Soft, with a little hint of oak in the background. A really classy Burgundy for the money considering the price wines from the neighbouring Grand Cru vineyard fetch. - Thom Allinson, OWC
