Domaine Chignard Les Moriers Fleurie 2022
£25.25
Intensely aromatic and complex with energy, finesse and depth.
- Domaine Chignard was founded by Michel Chignard and is now run by his son Cédric.
- They use a high proportion of whole bunch and a mix of cement, old foudre and stainless steel for vinification, all adding to this wine's immense complexity.
- The Domaine owns eight hectares of old vines (up to 70 years old) in Fleurie, situated at the top of the hill on pure granitic soils that slope down to Moulin-à-Vent.
- A minimal-intervention approach is taken to making this wine, with no fining or filtration before bottling.
- This gorgeous wine is a great introduction to the modern face of Beaujolais.
- Grape variety: Gamay
- Vintage: 2022
- Type/Colour: Red
- Alcohol: 13.5%
- Bottle Size: 75cl
- Group: Beaujolais

This wine is an excellent example of why we should all be drinking more Beaujolais. A truly classy wine with just a bit of bottle age for complexity, it would be perfect alongside some artisan French cheese and a freshly baked baguette. - Emily Silva, OWC
