Uncompromising wormtub goodness from the bad boy of Speyside, bottled by Douglas Laing

  • Established in 1948, Douglas Laing is a proudly independent, family owned Scotch Whisky business in its third generation
  • Craigellachie sit right at the heart of the Speyside region. A historic distillery known for their wormtub condensers which impart a meaty, sulphurous note into the new make spirit
  • This release was distilled in December 2012 and bottled in August 2023. Charged from a refill hogshead it's one of 345 bottles produced at 46% abv without colour or chill-filtration
  • The nose is a melange of roasted pineapple, marmite, bacon fat and malty honey
  • The palate is rich with notes of plum, blackcurrant and sweet baking spices building towards a linger finish of stem ginger and pecan pie
    • Vintage: 2012
    • Type/Colour: Single Malt Whisky
    • Alcohol: 46%
    • Bottle Size: 70cl
    • Country: Scotland

January 2025 - Roasted pineapple, marmite and bacon fat. There's a reason I keep going back to drink more Craigellachie. It's just so good!
