A delicious sweet, full-bodied Oloroso sherry
- Named after the East India company which would carry fortified wine as ballast on its voyages, serving it up to thirsty crew members
- Produced from 80% Oloroso and 20% Pedro Ximénez butts aged separately for 12 years before blending and a further 3 years integration
- Sweet, raisins and dates from the Pedro Ximénez hit the nose first, followed by a citrus tang, walnuts and coffee from Oloroso
- The palate is sweet but not syrupy like PX, there's plenty of muscovado sugar, caramel, coffee, raisins and prunes
- There's a light salty edge and good acidity to the finish which is long and pleasant
- Grape variety: Pedro Ximinez, Palomino Fino
- Vintage: NV
- Type/Colour: Sweet
- Alcohol: 20%
- Bottle Size: 75cl
- Group: Sherry
