Italian grape variety meets Argentine terroir.
- Made from grapes planted in 1935 by the Benegas family on the Finca Libertad estate in Maipú, this might be an oddity but it certainly isn't a gimmick.
- Deep garnet in colour and a bold expression of the grape in every respect.
- Lots of wild red fruits, hints of cocoa and vanilla on the nose.
- Firmly structured with a rich red fruit mid palate and excellent length.
- Pair with hard cheeses or a mushroom risotto.
- Grape variety: Sangiovese
- Vintage: 2020
- Type/Colour: Red
- Alcohol: 14.5%
- Bottle Size: 75cl
- Group: Mendoza
The classic Chianti grape is thriving in South America. Typical sour cherry and rustic notes of Sangiovese are augmented with a rich, soft, plumminess that I find quite delightful. - Manda Joyce, OWC
