Burgundian-quality levels from a German Grand Cru Pinot Noir
- Charming perfume with a tracing-paper-fine touch of the autumn leaves and mushrooms to come.
- Sweet, pretty, generous strawberry and cherry fruit with a touch of marzipan on the palate. Gentle but those tannins are confident; peppery, gentlemanly but in charge.
- On a south-facing slope, volcanic soils. Was its own single vineyard until 1971 and it was only in 2013 that they were once again allowed to call it by its proper name.
- This is the only wine they do a cold soak on, for one week. Spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel and in barrel for one year.
- Wonderful match for duck or mushroom based dishes.
