An easy drinking and enjoyable red from Portugal

The sometimes undervalued Tejo region, just south of Lisbon, is capable of producing wines of enormous value and character.
Ai Galera is an excellent example of this and is made from Castelão and Trincadeira.
This medium bodied wine has sweet red berry fruit flavours and a smooth texture.
The mellow tannins are well integrated carrying the flavours to a lovely soft finish.
This gentle red works well with white meats and soft cheeses.
