Lavantureux Freres

A family producer, now in their third generation, this Domaine first began bottling Chablis wines in 1979. Since then, their operation has expanded considerably, particularly after 2010 when sons Arnaud and David took the reins and expanded both the estate's winemaking facilities and land holdings.
Lavantureux Frères practise sustainable vineyard management, promoting biodiversity on the land by planting cover crops which force the vine roots to stretch deep underground and draw on the reserves of the region's famous limestone sub-soils.
They are clear in their vision to use the land they have to produce wines reflective of their surroundings. This means they focus less on a "house style" and more towards an understanding and expression of each vintage.
They also specialise in old vine Chardonnay, and the first wines from vines of over 50 years old will hit the shelves in 2021. The old vines produce smaller yields with ripe, concentrated grapes reflected in the style of wines produced.
The wines they produce are low-intervention with carefully judged oak, to add texture, complexity and depth to their wines, depending on the vintage.
