Franschoek Cellars

Website: http://franschhoek-cellar.co.za

Franschoek Cellars started in 1945 when 37 growers came together to establish a co-operative cellar in the area. By 184 they were crushing 12,000 tons and had 95 members. Although a little smaller today they produce some of the very best value wines that South Africa has to offer.

Based in the heart of Franschoek, the oldest established town in South Africa where the French Huguenots originally settled. They draw from a wealth of different soils and climates within the area due to their co-operative nature.

These are incredibly expressive varietal wines with a real sense of place yet retain a sensible and affordable price point!

The Baker Station Shiraz and Statue de Femme Sauvignon Blanc are especially good.
